Man yields shabu during routine search at seaport

TACLOBAN CITY – The Philippine Coast Guard arrested a 39-year-old man after suspected shabu was found in his possession on Wednesday, August 28, in the seaport of Barangay Aguit-itan, Calbayog City.

A specialized narcotics dog detected that the suspect had illegal drugs in his possession during a routine inspection.

The suspect was searched and authorities recovered a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing 
shabu and drug paraphernalia.

The contraband was taken to the Regional Forensic Unit-8 for testing.

The suspect, who was traveling from Bulacan to Cebu, was taken to the Calbayog City Police Station (CPS) with the pieces of evidence.

He faces drug-related charges.
