Driver-bodyguard gunned down in Biñan City

BIÑAN CITY, Laguna – A 55-year-old driver-bodyguard of a city government department head was gunned down in Barangay Soro-Soro, this city, on Wednesday night, August 28.

Police identified the victim as Ronald dela Paz.

Investigation said Dela Paz had just alighted from a service vehicle with his boss inside when gunmen onboard a motorcycle appeared and shot the victim.

Dela Paz died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds. His superior was unhurt.

Witnesses said one of the assailants was wearing black jacket with black helmet. His back rider was wearing a red T-shirt, blue cap, and black pants.

The gunmen fled and police are conducting follow-up investigation.

Businessman electrocuted

A 34-year-old businessman was electrocuted while installing a surveillance camera in Purok 1, Barangay Manggahan, Mataas na Kahoy, this town, on Wednesday afternoon, August 28.

Police identified the victim as Jun of Barangay Muzon, San Luis, Batangas.

The victim was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.
