Tot dies after being struck by motorcycle in Negros Occidental

BACOLOD CITY – A one-year-old boy died after he was hit by a motorcycle in Sitio Malipayon, Barangay Camalobalo, Hinigaran, Negros Occidental on Sunday, August 25.

Police Lt. Col. Eduardo Corpuz, Hinigaran police chief, said the mother put her son down to allow him to walk on the roadside.

The victim suddenly crossed the road and was accidentally hit by the oncoming motorcycle.

He was thrown off and hit his head on a rock. The victim was taken to a hospital by his parents where he was pronounced dead.

Corpuz said the 54-year-old motorcycle driver was released from police custody on Monday, August 26, after both parties reached a settlement.
