Estrada, during the Senate public information and mass media’s hearing on Tuesday, berated Nones after he repeatedly refused to answer questions about Sandro’s testimony.

Because of his actions, Estrada moved that Nones remain detained at the Senate and said he should get a court order if he wants to be released.

In his letter to Estrada, which was coursed through Sen. Robinhood “Robin” Padilla, chairman of the public information panel, Nones said he deeply regrets his emotional outbursts during the hearing.

“I am writing to sincerely apologize for my conduct during the Senate hearing…I recognize that my words and tone may have come across as disrespectful, and I deeply regret allowing my emotions to get the best of me,” Nones said.

“The anxiety and stress I’ve been experiencing due to my detention unfortunately clouded my judgment and I did not express myself in the manner intended,” he further said.

Nones said it was never his intention to be disrespectful to Estrada or the Senate.

“I hold the work you do in the highest regard and have immense respect for your roles as our nation’s leaders,” he said.

Nones further vowed to ensure that his future interactions with the Senate panel “will reflect the respect and professionalism that your positions deserve.”

During the hearing, Sandro provided details on what Nones and Richard Cruz, another independent contractor, did to him during the alleged sexual assault incident.

Sandro also said Nones and Cruz forced him to take drugs before they sexually assaulted him.

Due to the incident, Sandro filed a formal complaint before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Nones and Cruz have repeatedly denied the allegations against them.
