Las Piñas, Parañaque, Pasay suspend classes, gov't work amid heavy rains
The city governments of Las Piñas, Parañaque and Pasay declared the suspension of classes in all levels for both public and private schools on Wednesday, August 28, due to inclement weather brought about by the southwest monsoon.
Aside from the suspension of classes, government works were also suspended while frontline services such as emergency response, medical response, and other essential services will remain open.
Las Piñas Mayor Imelda Aguilar and Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the suspension of classes and government works was made based on the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management in the National Capital Region (NCR), and was approved by Malacañang.
