DDB backs programs for effective rehabilitation of people who use illegal drugs

The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) has assured of full support to the efforts of the local government units (LGUs) in conducting programs that would lead to the what it described as effective rehabilitation and reintegration to the mainstream society of people who use drugs (PWUDs).

In a statement, the DDB cited the Municipal and Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (ADAC) of Taytay, Rizal for the series of learning sessions it conducted concerning the protocols for handling PWUDs and the filing of court petitions.

The DDB stressed that the training program focused on the comprehensive orientation on the roles and responsibilities of “Dangerous Drugs Board Authorized Representatives.’’

The DDB emphasized that the program imparted essential knowledge about the legal frameworks that guide the appropriate representation of PWUDs in court, ensuring a smooth transition to treatment and rehabilitation.

In a bid to raise employee awareness about the detrimental effects of substance abuse, the DDB in tandem with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) also conducted a “Seminar on Drug-Free Workplaces’’ for the latter’s personnel and corporate staff in its main and field offices.

The DDB emphasized that the “hybrid seminar’’ is a key strategic ploy to promote a healthy and productive environment-free from the illicit use of dangerous drugs, which focused on fostering a responsible workplace culture that prioritizes employee well-being with “strict adherence to policies prohibiting the use, possession, or distribution of illegal drugs and controlled substances within the workplace.’’
