Stell of SB19 on gender identity rumours: 'If ever man na ganun ako, ano'ng problema?'

Stell of the SB19 addressed rumors about his gender identity during the group's appearance on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda on GMA Network on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

During the second part of the interview with the P-Pop Kings, Boy asked them about his sexuality. He asked the members of the group: “Kaakibat ng pagsikat ay kontrobersiya. Isa na dito 'yung sexuality. What do you wanna say?”

Stell said: “'Di ko nga rin po talaga maintindihan. Kasi unang-una po, tingin po ba nila insulto 'yung ganung klaseng bagay? Ako, for example, lagi po akong natatanong or lagi pong nagiging issue po sa 'kin 'yun and I don't mind na kung if ever man isipin nilang ganun. Kasi if ever man ganun ako, what's the problem?

“So, if ever man na ganun ako, ano'ng problema? So, may issue ba tayo kung [for] example na maging bakla ako or anything naman na matawag n'yo sa akin? Kasi pare-parehas naman tayong tao, pare-parehas tayong kumakain, pare-parehas tayong dumudumi," he said.

Stell also directly confronted the swirling rumors regarding shipping.

“Katulad nga po nung mga ganu'ng issue, na mahilig 'yung mga fans sa shipping. Hindi namin maiiwasan 'yun. Kasi kami nga minsan nagkaka-ano rin kami, bakit parang ganun 'yung tingin ng tao, e, sa 'min parang normal naman 'yun bilang magkakaibigan. Sa ibang tao, iba pala 'yung iniisip nila," he said.

Josh said: "Hindi mo naman mapi-please lahat. Parang ngayon pa lang ako natututo na ganito pala ang buhay ng may fame. Maraming magagamit sa'yo kahit hindi ka aware sa nangyayari. So maging mas maingat ka na lang."

On shipping, Stell added: "Hindi rin namin hinayaan na maapektuhan siya as friends. Kung sa amin joke lang yun tapos iniisip pala ng tao na totoo, then ginagawan pa nila ng mas malalang issue. May napanood nga ako na parang tinatarayan daw ni Pablo yung isang artist. Something like that.

"Parang crush da ako (Stell). Pero nilapitan daw ni Pablo at tinarayan daw ni Pablo kasi nalaman daw n'ya na crush ako. 

"Parang sa akin, ang labo naman ng mga nangyayari rito. Akala ko na masaya lang tayo rito? May mga ganun palan issue. So gusto sana namin siyang ma-break. Andito lang kami para maging masaya tayo," Stell also said.

Stell added: "Pero wala naman talaga kaming mga ganung issue. Willing naman naming sagutin lahat. Just to clarify everything."

Ken said: "Pero may mga ganun talagang opinion na hindi maganda because may mga tao pa rin na hindi nakakakilala sa amin tapos ganun ang iisipin nila. May kasabihan na yung first impression, yun takaga ang matatandaan ng mga tao. Tapos nag-aaway away pa sila dahil hindi sila boto sa ganitong ship. For us it's funny."
