The administration coalition dubbed the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas has expressed in no uncertain terms its support for the Philippine National Police's (PNP) attempts to capture the wanted Pastor Apollo Quiboloy.

“The Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas is resolute in its belief that no one is above the law. We call upon all Filipinos to remain vigilant but calm, trusting in the processes that safeguard our democracy,” the coalition said in a statement sent to House reporters on Monday night, Aug. 27

“Our nation's strength lies in our collective adherence to the law, and we must all contribute to ensuring that justice is served,” it added.

The alliance—composed of President Marcos Jr.’s Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD), the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), the Nacionalista Party (NP), and the National Unity Party (NUP)—emphasized their unwavering commitment to supporting the PNP in carrying out its lawful duties.

The statement was signed by Secretary Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr., the Special Assistant to the President and executive vice president of PFP; Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez, president of Lakas-CMD; former Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronaldo Puno, chairman of NUP; former Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, president of NPC; and Misamis Oriental 2nd District Rep. Yevgeny Vincente B. Emano, national director of NP.

The coalition leaders also stressed the importance of national unity, the need to maintain order, and the respect for the rights of every individual.

“Let us move forward together, upholding the principles of justice, peace, and order, for the betterment of our country. Together, let us continue to strive for a just and orderly society, where the rights of every individual are protected and respected,” the leaders said.

The statement came amid rising tensions at the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) headquarters in Davao City, where authorities intensified their presence in an effort to arrest the contoversial Quiboloy.

Quiboloy and several of his co-accused are facing serious charges, including child abuse and human trafficking, both in the Philippines and abroad.

Despite the growing calls from various sectors for Quiboloy and his co-accused to surrender and face the charges against them, the KOJC church leader remains at large.

The alliance recently held its inaugural meeting in Malacañang, where it solidified its strategy for the upcoming elections and beyond.
