Quezon City cited as most competitive LGU for 4 consecutive years

The Quezon City government was recognized as the overall most competitive Local Government Unit (LGU) at the Creative Cities and Municipalities Congress 2024, earning the title for fourth consecutive year.
According to the city’s public information office, the awarding ceremony organized by the Department of Trade and Industry was held at the Manila Hotel.
The local government secured high spots in the categories of Overall Most Competitive LGU for Highly Urbanized and Most Competitive in Infrastructure.
It also received a special award from the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines for having the highest number of intellectual properties.
The city government also got the second spot in the Most Competitive for Innovation category, and third place for Most Competitive for Resiliency category.
Mayor Joy Belmonte expressed pride in the city's achievements and emphasized the impact of the awards on the city government's ongoing efforts to enhance the residents' quality of life and service delivery.
“Ang mga pagkilalang ito ay pagpapatibay sa magandang trabaho ng pamahalaang lungsod para sa kapakanan ng lahat ng QCitizens (These recognitions affirm the excellent work of the city government for the benefit of all QCitizens),” she said.
“Alay natin ang mga award na ito sa ating mga katuwang sa paglilingkod sa pamahalaang lungsod at sa mga QCitizen na walang patid na nagtitiwala sa kakayahan ng siyudad na magsilbi (We dedicate these awards to our partners in serving the city government and to the QCitizens who continuously trust in the city's ability to deliver service),” Belmonte added.
The city government said that the city's consistent recognition underscores its Hall of Famer status, which was earned in 2019
The event was also attended by Business Permits and Licensing Department (BPLD) head Margie Mejia and City Planning and Development Department (CPDD) officer-in-charge Jose Gomez Jr.
