Iloilo City declared as 5th most competitive highly urbanized city in NCC index


ILOILO CITY – The National Competitiveness Council under the Department of Trade and Industry has named Iloilo City as the fifth most competitive highly urbanized city in the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI).

The CMCI said Iloilo City is the top most highly urbanized city outside of Metro Manila.

“A heartfelt congratulations to Iloilo City,” said DTI-Iloilo led by Provincial Director Maria Dinda Tamayo.

“The dedication and strategic vision of the team have not only propelled Iloilo to new heights but have also significantly contributed to the nation’s overall advancement,” added DTI-Iloilo.

LGUs were ranked based on its performances in five key pillars: Economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation.

Iloilo City ranked first in government efficiency, fifth in  resiliency and innovation, seventh in economic dynamism, and ninth in infrastructure.
