Forest Hills Golf and Country Club is hosting the Cherrylume-Forest Hills Pro Am of the Professional Golfers Association of the Philippines (PGAP) for a second straight year.
The upcoming tournament will feature 60 of the country’ top touring and teaching pros while teaming up with equally talented amateurs who will play the ultra-tough Palmer layout from August 29-30.
Last year, Alfredo Repato Jr. and amateur Jonar Austria survived a three-hole playoff before pulling off an upset against veteran Antonio Lascuña and Martin Guiang.
“Forest Hills is firm in its commitment to help the golfers. The collaboration with PGAP yielded positive results and we would like to continue the relationship,” Forest Hills chairman Robert John Sobrepeña said.
Repato and Austria are expected to return and repeat although it would surely face challengers who are eager to dethrone the pair, according to Forest Hills general manager Raymond Bunquin.
“Based on the early entries, there are some strong candidates. We will come out with the list once we complete the registration,” Bunquin also said.
