LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Police arrested 35 wanted persons in the Cordillera region from August 16 to 22.
Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr., Police Regional Office-Cordillera chief, said the Baguio City Police Office and Benguet Police Provincial Office nabbed 14 individuals, followed by the Ifugao PPO with five, and Abra PPO and Mountain Province PPO with one each.
Six were most wanted persons on the provincial level.
Fifty-six municipalities in the region recorded zero crime incidents due to heightened police visibility and other law enforcement operations – 23 in Abra, nine in Ifugao, eight in Benguet and Mountain Province, five in Apayao, and three in Kalinga.
In Baguio City, Police Stations 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 were crime-free.
Peredo said the anti-criminality campaign contributed to a 4.02 percent decrease in the Peace and Order Indicator (POl) and a 1.36 percent reduction in average weekly crime compared to the same period last year.
The region also recorded a 10.94 percent crime clearance efficiency and an 18.42 percent crime solution efficiency.
