As of 10:40 p.m., at least 1,000 Kingdom of Jesus Christ members are holding a protest in front of their compound in Buhangin District.
Police Regional Office-11 chief Police Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre II asked the KOJC members to disperse from the Philippines-Japan Friendship Highway.
The highway is a major link to the Davao International Airport.
Police have deployed a long-range acoustic device (LRAD) to disperse protesters.
An LRAD crowd control device is a specialized loudspeaker that produces sound at high power for communicating at a distance.
Protesters were holding placards and heard calling for President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to resign.
Police denied that Davao City is under lockdown.
Flights remain normal at the Davao City International Airport.
The protest was conducted more than a day after 2,000 police officers went to the KOJC compound to serve warrants of arrest against Quiboloy and colleagues for child abuse and human trafficking.
The Philippine National Police defended the operation as lawful.
