
A Chinese national was arrested by members of the Pasay police Substation 1 after conducting a follow-up operation on the reported stolen vehicle in Parañaque City.
Pasay City police chief, Col. Samuel Pabonita, said the suspect, identified as alias “Sun," 28, was arrested at around 1:45 a.m. on Friday, August 23 inside an impounding area located along J.W. Diokno Boulevard, Barangay 76, Zone 10, Pasay City.
Pabonita said members of the Substation 1 prevented the suspect from leaving the area and brought him to the Anti- Carnapping Unit for detention and investigation.
He said a Honda Civic with license plate number NDK2939 colored modern steel metallic was carnapped at around 7 p.m. last August 9 at No. 8912 Basement Parking Area Slot BO26, Aseana 3, Barangay Tambo, Paranaque City.
The city police chief said members of the Substation 1 immediately conducted a follow-up operation after receiving information that the vehicle was found inside the impounding area in the city.
The suspect was charged for Republic Act 10883 or new anti-carnapping act of 2016.
