Faced against a brave stand from the Bossing who still led at the half despite playing without an import, the Beermen rode the hot hands of Adams to break the game wide open in the third frame and notch their second win in as many games.

Adams was simply on target all throughout the contest, drilling six triples to go along with his 11 rebounds, four assists and three steals – a fitting warm-up ahead of the Beermen’s marquee duel against Barangay Ginebra Kings on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

June Mar Fajardo added 13 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks while CJ Perez chipped in 14 as SMB joined Rain or Shine and NLEX at the top of the standings.

Even without a reinforcement, the Bossing put up a fight against the mighty Beermen, even leading by as many as 10 points in the first half behind the efforts of Sedrick Barefield, Troy Rosario and Christian David.

Blackwater gave the pink slip to first choice Ricky Ledo following subpar performances in the first two games. The Bossing are set to bring in a new import but couldn’t make it in time for the game against the Beermen.

That certainly was the difference as Adams and Fajardo had Blackwater’s frontline rotation in foul trouble all throughout the contest allowing them to freely assert their might during a blistering 18-4 run to open the second half and turn the tides.

Jericho Cruz also finished in double-figures for the Beermen with 12 points while Kris Rosales and Vic Manuel added 10 apiece.

Rosario dropped a conference-high 25 points to pace the Bossing while Barefield fired 16. James Kwekuteye and Jewel Ponferrada added 11 each while David had 10.
