In its latest weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the “habagat” will affect the western sections of Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.

The southwest monsoon will specifically bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Mimaropa, Western Visayas, the Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Localized thunderstorms, on the other hand, will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms to Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms or due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, PAGASA continues to monitor Severe Tropical Storm Shanshan.

As of 3 a.m., PAGASA said “Shanshan” is still outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Located 2,055 kilometers east of Central Luzon, “Shanshan” moves northward at 15 kilometers per hour (kph).

“Shanshan” will be named “Enteng” once it enters PAR.
