P20.8-M marijuana torched in 2 days

TINGLAYAN, Kalinga – Police destroyed marijuana worth P20.8 million in eradication operations in Kalinga and Mountain Province from August 22 to 23.

MARIJUANA plants worth P14.4 million were discovered and destroyed in Barangay Basao, Tinglayan, Kalinga. 

A total of 72,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P14.4 million were uprooted and burned in a 4,800-square meter plantation in Barangay Basao here on August 23.

In Barangay Saclit, Sadanga, Mountain Province, 32,000 fully grown marijuana plants worth P6.4 million were found and destroyed on August 22.

Operating units – Sadanga Municipal Police Station (MPS), 2nd Mountain Province Provincial Mobile Force Company, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), Regional Intelligence Unit-14, and PDEA-Mountain Province – were cited for their accomplishments.

Investigations is underway to locate other marijuana plantations and apprehend their cultivators.
