A program director (PD) who worked in the Korean TV programs “Three Meals a Day: Gochang Village” and “New Journey to the West” and an expectant father died in a car accident in Seoul. He was 34.
Lee Joo-hyung died in a traffic accident on his way home from work on Aug. 22. Korean media reported that the car accident happened at 12:26 a.m. in Sangam-dong in Mapo, Seoul.

Korean media reported that the taxi that Lee Joo-hyung was riding on crashed into a parked tour bus and a car. He died at the scene.
A report by Yonhap News on Aug. 22 stated that the taxi driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to a hospital. At the time, the taxi driver was found to have been under the influence of alcohol or other substances.
The police have filed a case against the taxi driver and are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
Lee Joo-hyung joined entertainment company CJ ENM in 2016 and participated in the production of “Three Meals a Day: Gochang Village,” “New Journey to the West” seasons 2 and 3, “Great Escape,” and “Comedy Big League.”

In July last year, he moved to Borderless Film, a video production company acquired by Korean OTT platform Coupang Play, and participated in the production of Disney+’s sports documentary “Full Count.”
Lee Joo-hyung was an expectant father with his first baby due to be born in December.
His funeral was held on Aug. 24.
