It was during the congress that the DTI announced the results of the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index (CMCI) that saw Caibiran being awarded as the third most improved municipality in the 5th-6th Class Category.

“This remarkable achievement is a testament to our collective efforts, dedication, and commitment to progress,” Caibiran Mayor Rhodessa Delante-Revita said in a statement.

Revita was joined by Caibiran Vice Mayor Linda Garin-Vermug in receiving the award.

CMCI is an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development.

Cities and municipalities were ranked based on five criteria or pillars: Economic dynamism, government efficiency, infrastructure, resiliency, and innovation.

Revita described the recent feat as a milestone as Caibiran also ranked as fourth-most improved municipality in 2020.

She thanked “every hardworking employee, every community member, and every partner” who contributed to the town’s accolade.

“If there is cooperation, something good will happen. Let us continue our journey towards even greater heights. Padayon kita (Let’s move forward) to revitalize Caibiran.”
