Noy Remogat has been playing basketball since he was six years old — not surprising at all as their home is just a few steps from the court where his skills were honed.

With his superb showing in the FIBA 3x3 in Handan Shi, China last June, the 21-year-old guard turned heads and got the attention of Anta Philippines and Rain or Shine, which partnered in refurbishing Remogat’s childhood court in Barangay Tatalon, Quezon City.

The renovation alone made Remogat overwhelmed as he aims to become a good role model to the younger generations and inspire them to do basketball rather than trying vices.

“Unang-una po, sobrang grateful and sobrang saya kasi hindi ko in-expect magiging ganito ka-ganda sa court kasi di naman ganito ‘yong kinalakihan ko so sobrang thankful ako,” said Remogat after the launch of the court Thursday, Aug. 22.

“Mas lalong maging kagana-gana para malaruan ng mga bata, mas ganahan sila na tuparin nila ‘yong mga pangarap nila sa larangan ng basketball.”

His stint in the Chinese city where he led Zedjay Etulle, Patrick Sleat and Jun Roque in the team's fourth-place finish in the Nations League opened more opportunities for Remogat.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa mga blessings and opportunity na kahit papaano po hindi ako nababakante and nakakalaro papo ako sa ibang bansa ng 3x3, which ‘yong nilalaruan ko po rito nung bata pa po ako,” he continued.

The theme of the basketball court is designed by Kevin Geologo of the Geobros Mural Team and inspired by ANTA’s KAI 1 “Garden State” –  a sought-after shoe that has different hues of green and the Nitroedge midsole draped in its usual white color. The inspiration behind the colorway stems from Kyrie Irving’s hometown of New Jersey, USA, with patterns and textures that echo the state’s forestry.

“His story is one that can relate to aspiring hoopers who are taking their game to the next level from the streets, so taking it back to where it all started and building on it could captivate the hearts of the community,” said ANTA PH Marketing Manager James Cruz.

“And of course, from Asian Coatings and Rain or Shine, we will continue to support these types of projects in support of the overall sports community,” Asian Coatings Business Development Officer Ryan Toquero added.
