Binangonan, Rizal sets culmination events for Youth Month 2024

Various youth groups in Binangonan, Rizal and nearby towns will join together as the latter culminates the observance of National Youth Month on August 24.

Binangonan Municipal Administrator Russel Ynares said the Grand Youth Day is being presented by the municipal government through the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation of Binangonan.

Aside from the members and officers of the SK Binangonan in the town’s 40 villages, various youth groups including those belonging to private youth organizations, are set to occupy the Binangonan Municipal grounds as early as 12 noon on Saturday, August 24 for the scheduled motorshow, contests, concert, products on sale in food and non-food kiosks, and many more.

The motorshow features racing cars and other custom-made automobiles including motorbikes, traditional Filipino jeepneys, and even tricycles that have been uniquely designed and decorated by the respective vehicle owners who are based in the municipality.

The official said participants may also enjoy the variety of foods and beverages at the various kiosks inside the selling area within the municipal grounds.

Music lovers will surely enjoy the night of non-stop music as several youth bands will perform such as the town’s very own, New Direction according to Administrator Ynares.

Other participating bands that are also crowd catchers are Nobita; Android 18; Hilera; Kuatro Kantos; Ityoboy BC; Agos; Cinco de Kalyo; Square One; BNZ; Stella; Grey Scale Valley; and Hotdrop.

Participants will also get the chance to win prizes and freebies during the event as merchants and sponsors have pledged to make the event enjoyable to the public as part of the municipal government’s effort to keep the members of the youth sector away from illegal drugs and criminal activities.  

Admission to the one-day event for the youth, organized by the All Binangonan Artists Association is free but bladed instruments, firearms, and illegal drugs are strictly prohibited as policemen, barangay tanods and marshals will be conducting frisking and inspection of bags at the entrance and exit points in the vicinity of the venue grounds to ensure the safety of the participants.

Earlier, the municipal government also held other youth related activities such as the youth parade, photography contest and advocacy video-making contest in line with the observance of the 2024 International Youth day, National Youth Day 2024, Asean Day and the Linggo ng Kabataan.
