Soldier killed in Tacloban motorcycle crash

TACLOBAN CITY – A 27-year-old soldier was killed and his back rider was injured in a motorcycle crash on Justice Romualdez St., Barangay 25, this city, on Wednesday, August 21.

Police identified the victim as Al, a resident of Barangay Laygayon, Pinabacdao, Samar.

The Tacloban City Police Office (TCPO) said Al lost control of the blue motorcycle without a license plate bound for the downtown area and crashed on the road.

His back rider, Josh, 26, also a resident of Barangay Laygayon, was injured.

Police said the victims were under the influence of alcohol which may have caused the accident.

Al was taken to a hospital here where he was declared dead and his companion recovering.
