P6.8-M shabu seized in Cotabato City


ILIGAN CITY – Two drug pushers were arrested and suspected shabu worth P6.8 million was seized in a buy-bust operation here on Tuesday, August 20.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao chief Gil Cesario Castro identified the suspects as Ebrahim Guinda Esmael, alias Tol, male, 43, and Dali Malogayak Abdulkarim, male, 49, residents of Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

The suspects yielded a transparent plastic bag of shabu weighing one kilo and valued at P6.8 million, buy-bust money, two mobile phones, and identification cards.

Mayor Bruce Matabalao commended the operating units led by the PDEA for their arrest.

Police Col. Joel S. Estaris, Cotabato City police chief, warned drug pushers that they have no place in Cotabato City and that they and the City Prosecutor’s Office headed by lawyer Mariam April Mastura will work closely to ensure their conviction.

The two suspects are under the custody of the PDEA-BARMM and face drug-related cases.
