ILOILO CITY – A travel publication has named world-famous Boracay Island as the fourth most visited island destination in Asia.
TimesTravel of India included the country’s most famous beach destination located in Malay town, Aklan province as one the “8 Most Visited Island Destinations in Asia.”
TimesTravel cited Boracay for “its powdery white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters. White Beach is the most popular spot, known for its lively atmosphere and stunning sunsets.”
It also noted Boracay’s “various water sports and activities, vibrant nightlife, and numerous dining options.”
Aside from Boracay, Palawan, another Philippine tourist destination, was also in the list at third.
The Department of Tourism (DOT) welcomed the accolade.
“This recognition reaffirms Boracay’s status as a world-class paradise,” the Malay-Boracay Tourism Office said.
Last June, Boracay was listed as one of the Best Islands in the Asia-Pacific category in the Travel+Leisure Luxury Awards Asia Pacific 2024.
