Police kill hitman in Pampanga encounter

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga â€“ Police killed a suspected gun-for-hire in an encounter in Barangay Cangatba, Porac, Pampanga before dawn on Monday, August 19.

A SUSPECTED hitman was killed in Porac, Pampanga on Monday, August 19.

Pampanga police chief Police Col. Jay C. Dimaandal identified the fatality as Jojo Garcia Fajardo of Purok 5, Barangay Suklayin, Arayat, Pampanga.

Police said a security guard, Marciano Carmona, reported that a man, Edgar Lacsamana, 26, was taken to the Dr. Emigdio C. Cruz Sr. Memorial Hospital in Barangay San Agustin Norte, Arayat after he was shot dead by gunmen onboard motorcycle with a sidecar with license plates 1049KY on Sunday night, August 18.

A flash alarm was issued and police conducted a dragnet operation.

Police received information that the motorcycle was seen at the Megadike Extension in Barangay Cangatba.

Responding lawmen saw Fajardo driving the motorcycle. He fired at lawmen while fleeing into a grassy area. Police returned fire and killed Fajardo.

Scene-of-the-Crime Operatives recovered a .45 caliber pistol and a cellular phone from Fajardo who was wanted for multiple murder and other crimes.
