One of the recipients was Julie Ann Arab who was elated by the unexpected move.

According the working mother, the refund was timely as she has been struggling to make ends meet due to her delayed salary and the continuing rise in the prices of food.

The refund was stipulated in the Magna Carta for Residential Electricity Consumers that mandates power distribution utilities to refund deposits made by good-paying consumers for a period of three consecutive years.

MORE Power records show that there are more than 600 consumers in the Arevalo, City Proper, Jaro, La Paz, Lapuz, Mandurriao, and Molo Districts who are eligible for refunds.
