Surreal feeling as Jamie Lim represents SMB as muse

Lim said she enjoyed her time as a muse and relished her chance to also be with other Filipina athletes who, like her, temporarily stepped away from their usual training routines and wore posh makeup, heels and dresses.

For a change, two-time Southeast Asian games gold medalist Jamie Lim is exchanging her karate gear for a fine dress and heels.

A bit out of her comfort zone, she admitted, but gladly took it anyways especially as a way of honoring her late father Samboy Lim.

It was a special moment for the 27-year-old Lim as she represented San Miguel Beer as its muse, the same team his father, Samboy, played the entirety of his career.

“I'm very honored, full circle. My dad started his PBA career and ended his PBA career with San Miguel, and I am a muse now," said Lim, who was elegant in her red dress as she walked in the ceremony along with SMB players.

"I’m just so glad. I didn't think I would be a muse as a karate girl, but here we are. I love tonight, tonight was great,” she added.

Lim said she enjoyed her time as a muse and relished her chance to also be with other Filipina athletes who, like her, temporarily stepped away from their usual training routines and wore posh makeup, heels and dresses.

Apart from Lim, Olympian gymnast Aleah Finnegan was also the muse for Meralco, volleyball star Jema Galanza for Phoenix and figure skater Skye Chua for NorthPort.

“I'm amazed [that there are athletes] because I see the shift. Beautiful is powerful. Nakakatuwa lang, and it's an honor to be a muse," she added.

With the influence of basketball being a huge part of her growing up, largely due to his father, Samboy, Jamie shared that she, of course, is rooting for SMB particularly, eight-time Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo.

"I'm rooting for everyone, they're all good but idol ko si The Kraken," she said
