The resulting net satisfaction rating is +27 (percent satisfied minus percent dissatisfied), classified by SWS as moderate (+10 to +29). This is a seven-point increase from the moderate +20 in March 2024, following a decline from the good +47 in December 2023.
SWS: Marcos’ net satisfaction rating improves in Q2 2024

The nationwide Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted from June 23 to July 1 bared that 55 percent of adult Filipinos are satisfied with President Marcos’ performance, while 28 percent are dissatisfied and 15 percent remain undecided.
In the survey results released on Friday, Aug. 2, SWS noted an increase in gross satisfaction with President Marcos, which rose from 50 percent in March 2024 to 55 percent in June 2024.
Meanwhile, gross dissatisfaction decreased slightly from 31 percent to 28 percent, and the proportion of undecided respondents dropped from 19 percent to 15 percent.
“The resulting net satisfaction rating is +27 (percent satisfied minus percent dissatisfied), classified by SWS as moderate (+10 to +29). This is a seven-point increase from the moderate +20 in March 2024, following a decline from the good +47 in December 2023,” SWS said in its report.
Satisfaction rises in Mindanao, Visayas
SWS found that President Marcos’ net satisfaction rating was highest in Balance Luzon at a good +38 (down from good +40 in March), followed by Metro Manila at a good +30 (down from good +33), the Visayas at a moderate +26 (up from neutral +9), and Mindanao at a neutral +5 (up from poor -19).
Net satisfaction with President Marcos was higher in rural areas at a good +34 compared to a moderate +23 in urban areas, with his rating in rural areas rising by 16 points from March 2024 while remaining stable in urban areas.
President Marcos’ net satisfaction rating was moderate among both men and women, at +28 and +26, respectively, with a 10-point increase from moderate +16 among women and a four-point rise from moderate +24 among men since March 2024.
Meanwhile, as of June 2024, the President’s net satisfaction rating was moderate at +29 among 18-24-year-olds, +18 among 25-34-year-olds, +20 among 35-44-year-olds, and +21 among 45-54-year-olds, while it was good at +40 among those 55 and older.
Moreover, President Marcos’ net satisfaction rating was good at +32 among those with no formal education or some elementary education, moderate at +27 among those with elementary or some high school education, moderate at +29 among those with junior high school, vocational, or some college education, and moderate at +12 among college graduates or those with post-graduate studies.
Filipinos say few of Marcos’ promises will be fulfilled
The June 2024 survey also asked respondents, “In your opinion, how many of the promises of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. can be fulfilled?”

SWS found that 9 percent of Filipinos expect all or nearly all of President Marcos’ promises to be fulfilled, 17 percent expect most, 48 percent expect a few, and 23 percent expect almost none or none.
The 27 percent of Filipinos who expect all or most of President Marcos’ promises to be fulfilled (percent of all or nearly all and percent of most, correctly rounded), is up from 22 percent (5 percent all or nearly all, 18 percent most, correctly rounded) in March 2024.
This compares to 48 percent (18 percent all or nearly all, 30 percent most) in October 2022.
In comparison to past SWS surveys, the percentage of those who expected all or most of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s promises to be fulfilled was 19 percent (5 percent all or nearly all, 14 percent most) in September 2001 and 23 percent (8 percent all or nearly all, 15 percent most) in August 2004.
For President Benigno S. Aquino III, it was 44 percent (9 percent all or nearly all, 35 percent most) in September 2010 and 63 percent (22 percent all or nearly all, 41 percent most) in June 2016.
For President Rodrigo Duterte, it was 56 percent (15 percent all or nearly all, 41 percent most) in September 2016 before it ranged from 35 percent to 67 percent from March 2017 to June 2022.
The Second Quarter 2024 SWS survey was conducted through face-to-face interviews with 1,500 adults aged 18 and above nationwide.
