PLDT braces for a tough battle against Chery Tiggo on Saturday, Aug. 3, as it guns for its fourth straight win in the Premier Volleyball League Reinforced Conference at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.

The High Speed Hitters try to bank on their recent straight-set win over the Nxled Chameleons in their 5 p.m. tussle with hopes of protecting their pristine 3-0 record in Pool A.
Opening the day’s tripleheader are Nxled (1-2) and Farm Fresh (1-2) at 1 p.m., while Galeries Tower (0-3) hopes to end their losing skid when they face fancied Creamline (2-1) at 3 p.m.
PLDT coach Rald Ricafort expects a grueling showdown against Chery Tiggo, which is coming off a four-set loss to Creamline last week that put them at 2-1.
“Kumpleto sila eh. Kumpleto yung laro, yung import and pati mga locals, nagko-contribute din. Kaya definitely mahirap,” said Ricafort. “Pero tyagaan ulit gaya ng ibang laro.”
Ricafort pins his hopes on his top scorer Elena Samoilenko to fuel the squad along with Erika Santos and Mika Reyes.
But the triumvirate is expected to face Chery Tiggo’s own formidable trio in American Kath Bell, Ara Galang and Mylene Paat.
Meanwhile, Creamline tries to brush off its bruised knees from a a five-set loss to PLDT against the winless but hungry Galeries Tower.
Creamline coach Sherwin Meneses is actually wary of Highrisers import Chuewulim Sutadta, who has been improving significantly.
In the other pairing, Farm Fresh aims for a second straight win while Nxled seeks to end a two-game losing skid.
