CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – A 21-year-old student tagged as Pangasinan’s No. 1 most wanted person was arrested in San Carlos City, Pangasinan on Thursday.

The suspect was apprehended on a warrant of arrest for statutory rape issued by Judge Danilo P. Ventajor, Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court Branch 13, San Carlos City.
No bail was recommended for the suspect, a resident of San Carlos City.
The suspect was taken to the San Carlos City police station for documentation before turnover to the court.
He was checked and marked as arrested in the PNP Enhance E-Warrant and National Police Clearance System.
Meanwhile, police arrested a suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte on Thursday.
Seized from the 40-year-old suspect, a Top 10 regional high-value individual in the Ilocos region, were six grams of suspected shabu worth P40,800, counterfeit and genuine money, electronic devices, and personal belongings.
Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, Police Regional Office 1 chief, commended operating units for their efforts in ensuring the safety and security of communities.
Tricycle driver drowns
A 37-year-old tricycle driver drowned while fishing on a river in Barangay Sawat, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur on Thursday.
Police identified the victim as Robel D. Quines, a resident of Barangay Pacac, Tagudin.
Investigation said the victim drowned while swimming across the river to retrieve their fishing net.
Quines was found unconscious underwater and taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Police theorized that the victim experienced muscle cramps while swimming and drowned as a result.
