​Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique Manalo will travel to Mongolia and South Korea for separate bilateral talks to bolster the Philippine relations with countries in East Asia.
Manalo will be in Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar on August 4 until 6 as part of the activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
His visit is upon the invitation of Mongolian Foreign Minister Battsetseg Batmunkh, with whom Manalo will meet to convene the 4th Philippines-Mongolia Policy Consultations.
They will also explore further avenues of cooperation between the two countries, according to his office.
Then, from August 6 to 9, Manalo will be in South Korea to meet with Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yul.
They are scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting to discuss areas of mutual concern, which include political, defense, security, economic and development cooperation, as well as people-to-people ties.
They are also expected to exchange views on regional cooperation and international issues, and discuss the elevation of the bilateral relations between the two countries.
