Glitz and glamour shine at the GMA Gala 2024

Gathering the most talented and sought-after artists, executives, and personalities in the industry, the GMA Gala 2024 filled the Marriott Hotel Grand Ballroom in Pasay City with elegance and glamour last Saturday, July 20.

With glitz, glam, and style, the stars aligned at the highly-anticipated GMA Gala 2024. Indeed, one of the year's biggest gatherings, over 1,000 artists and distinguished guests graced the luxurious red carpet in elegant black, white, and sparkling ensembles.

Hosted by Tim Yap and Janeena Chan, the program opened with Asia's Limitless Star Julie Anne San Jose showcasing her vocal prowess, complemented by the powerhouse dance moves of Rayver Cruz, Miguel Tanfelix, and Rochelle Pangilinan.

GMA executives, led by President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr., Executive Committee Chairman Joel G. Jimenez, and Executive Vice President and CFO Felipe S. Yalong, were also present during the Gala.

Leading the star-studded celebration was GMA Network's Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes. "Tonight is not only for celebration, but is also a night for thanksgiving. Here we are, celebrating 74 years of GMA with you. People ask us what is the secret behind the longevity and the success of GMA, the answer is right here in this ballroom. You are the reason for our success. Our journey was made possible only because we stand on the shoulders of the brightest stars, sectional creatives and professionals, valued partners, and our beloved viewers," Atty. Gozon-Valdes said.

“We hope that GMA will continue to live to our number one corporate value that we place God above all,” she added.

Awards were also given to recognize the efforts of the Kapuso stars. “Asawa Ng Asawa Ko” star Kylie Padilla and Pambansang Ginoo David Licauco were hailed as the Best Dressed Stars of the Night. At the same time, Sparkle loveteams Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega, and Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz were recognized as Couple of the Night.

Young Stars of the Night were onscreen loveteam Allen Ansay and Sofia Pablo, while The Red Carpet Scene Stealer award went to Black Rider star and South Korean actor Kim Ji Soo.

Sparkle Choice Awards went to Andrea Torres, Bianca Umali, Sanya Lopez, Barbie Forteza, Kyline Alcantara, and Ruru Madrid.

Hall of Fame Awardees were Global Fashion Icon Heart Evangelista, Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards, Box-Office Queen Bea Alonzo, and Kapuso Primetime King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera.

Ken Chan received the BingoPlus Gala Night Icon award, while Alden Richards received the Aqua Boracay Tropical Trendsetter award.

Dingdong and Marian also bagged the Avignon Grand Couple of the Night, while Gabbi Garcia was named Belo Beauty of the Night.

Kylie also won the Honor 200 AI Portrait Master of the Night, showing off her exceptional shoot in Honor’s booth, while Rabiya Mateo took home the Luxe Slim Fit and Glam Award.

Heart Evangelista and Senate President Chiz Escudero were chosen as Perfect McCafe Blend of the Night.

Derrick Monasterio was honored with Premier Drip Star of the Night, Gazini Ganados as ToledoMed Angel of the Night, and Star of the New Gen Jillian Ward was hailed as Sparkling Smile of the Night.

In its third year, the Kapuso Kalusugan Projects of the GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) continues to benefit from the GMA Gala, helping students and educators across the country. In addition, the proceeds and donations from the GMA Gala will be given to the victims of Super Typhoon Carina in coordination with the GMA Kapuso Foundation.

A total of 1.5 million pesos in cash donations and 250,000 pesos worth of gift certificates and services were turned over during the event. Receiving the donation on behalf of the foundation was GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) Executive Vice President and COO Ms. Rikki Escudero-Catibog together with Sparkle loveteam Allen Ansay and Sofia Pablo.

Julie Anne closed the GMA Gala Night with her first live performance of the Network’s new Station ID “Isa Sa Puso Ng Pilipino.”

Sparkle GMA Artist Center Vice President Joy C. Marcelo led the toast to wrap up the successful event. It was a sparkling night to remember as GMA Network and Sparkle GMA Artist Center gathered the biggest and brightest stars in the Philippine Entertainment Industry.
