56 parcels yield dried marijuana leaves worth P840,000

BIÑAN CITY, Laguna – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seized 56 parcels containing dried marijuana leaves in an interdiction operation in Barangay Tubigan, this city, on Thursday night, August 1.

THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency seizes parcels containing dried marijuana leaves in Barangay Tubigan, Biñan City, Laguna on August 1.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency 4-A said the PDEA Seaport Interdiction Unit-Batangas and PDEA-Laguna Provincial Office received a report from the supervisor of a courier company about parcels suspected to contain illegal drugs.

Agents found one sack containing 56 parcels of different sizes containing dried marijuana leaves weighing a total of 7,000 grams with an estimated value of P840,000.

The PDEA is tracing the origin and sender of the parcels. The sender faces drug-related charges.
