CAVITE – Authorities collared two minors and seized suspected shabu with an estimated worth of P1 million in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Panapaan, Bacoor City, on Thursday, August 1.
Provincial Intelligence Unit Chief Lt. Col. Jerry B. Corpuz identified the children in conflict with the law (CICLs) as alias Ric and alias Jalila, residents of Dasmariñas City.
The joint sting operation by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Cavite Provincial Police Office (PPO), and Bacoor Component City Police Station (CCPS) netted the CICLs after they were caught in the act of selling illegal drugs worth P55,500 to a police poseur buyer.
More grams of suspected shabu were later confiscated from their possession.
The CICLs are currently under the custody of Cavite PPO for processing and documentation prior to the filing of charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. After that, they will be turned over to the Bacoor City Social Welfare and Development Office.
In a statement, Police Regional Office Director Brig. Gen. Paul Kenneth T. Lucas commended Cavite PPO for the success of the major anti-drug operation.
Cavite PPO Director Col. Eleuterio M. Ricardo Jr., meanwhile, expressed his gratitude to the police force and the community for their support in the anti-drug campaign.
