Actor Jericho Rosales is thrilled to be returning to showbiz, describing it as a fascinating moment.

After six years, Jericho is excited to make a comeback via the upcoming series "Lavender Fields," which will start airing on ABS-CBN in September.

Jericho plays Tyrone De Vera/Arthur Pelaez, husband of Irish Buenavidez, portrayed by Janine Gutierrez, the kind of guy who wants power and everything until he realizes, somewhere in his heart, he wants a simple life.

"I'm in a good moment of my life. My friends and family know. It's time for me to go with the flow. Life has been good, and it's an amazing feeling," Jericho said.

He added: "I wish everyone could experience this cooperation that I am receiving from God, from the universe, with work, with personal, and with my dreams."

One of the best moments about being in the series was working with the talented cast led by Jodi Sta. Maria, Maricel Soriano, Edu Manzano, Albert Martinez, and Janine Gutierrez.

Jericho, 44, admitted he had to eat his words when he said he would never return to making television series.

"I ate my words — ang sarap," the actor said as he laughed.

Jericho promised never to abandon acting or anything related to the arts.

"It's always going to be the state of my heart. It would be best to choose a life you don't want to run away from. So that when things go south, you can choose to be happy," he said.

When asked if this would be for life, Echo said: "Yeah. It's a new chapter. And it's a new perspective. It's just so very exciting."

Jericho remembered when he was offered a part in "Lavender Fields."

"It was an accident because I pitched something for Star Cinema, and in return, they said can we pitch something for you? So Dreamscape pitched (a project). They pitched two projects: one film project and one TV project — both action.

"And it is aligned with my role now, which is action-drama. The character is one of the biggest reasons I accepted the show. And then the cast and team. I'm good with Star Magic, but I am managing myself," he said. "I'll be working on another project after 'Lavender Fields.' "

Action series

Jericho said he wanted to do an action series. "I want to do action talaga. Hindi ko pa nagagamit yung gulat at sigaw."

Despite being in an action series, Jericho said "Lavender Fields" has a good balance of drama and action.

"It's mainly drama pa rin. But it's enough for us to be exhausted. Enough for you to enjoy it. It's 50-50 action and drama. Balanced. We have a good action director," he said.

Jericho said he's ready to be hated for his latest role.

"I told Dreamscape I don't have a problem playing this character anymore. I'm ready to be hated and to be loved. I'm not here to be hated. I'm here to entertain, and I'm here to entertain the characters. In the characters I play, dapat may makukuha ang mga tao.

"If you want something bad, then go for it. It took me six years, and I said no to many projects. I had to explain it to many people. I came to accept it.

"When I became braver, I became a hunter. I looked for the right projects and people to help me find good projects. Then happy ako sa set. I feel good," Jericho also said.

Working with Janine

Jericho said he's in a different state of appreciation working with Janine in the television series.

"I'm in a good moment of my life. My friends and family know. It's time for me to go with the flow. Life has been good, and it's an amazing feeling. I wish everyone could experience this cooperation that I am receiving from God, from the universe, with work, personal, and with my dreams," he said.

Jericho admitted he and Janine were dating. "We're getting to know each other. We're dating."

On queries that Jericho and Janine went to the National Museum for a date, Jericho said: "I'm in a state of utter appreciation. What you see is what you get. I hadn't been to the National Museum, so I asked Janine. Sabi niya, 'How old are you na ba? Bakit hindi ka pa nakapunta roon?' And so we did. She has a friend who has some great pieces in the museum. So her friend toured us. You should check it out. Have a date at the museum."

Jericho enumerated the qualities he loves about Janine.

"I've known her for some time, and she's a very sweet person. Everybody on the set loves her. But she's a sweet, sweet, sweet person. Loving, family-oriented, loves her work. We discussed our characters outside of work.

"We had a four-hour meeting with Anna (Feleo) just to discuss our characters' relationship. Then Janine said, 'Aha! I got it now. That was hard.' For us, it was like a problem solved," he said.

Janine was previously in a relationship with Paulo Avelino, while Jericho was separated from his wife, Kim Jones. Jericho and Janine have a 10-year age gap.

Jericho compared the Jericho of the past with the Jericho of today.

"Huge. Some of the good parts I kept. I know what I want. The relationships I'm keeping now are the ones that helped me grow."
