Vendor shot dead by father-in-law in La Union

BALAOAN, La Union – A vendor was allegedly gunned down by his father-in-law in Barangay Apatot, this town, on Saturday night, August 17.

Investigation disclosed that the suspect, Florencio Mendoza, 61, figured in a heated argument with the victim, Bryan Jay Tolentino, 28, after Tolentino’s goat allegedly ate Mendoza’s plants.

Mendoza drew a homemade 12-gauge shotgun and shot Tolentino, who was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The suspect fled but he was later arrested. The gun was recovered from the suspect who is under police custody and faces related cases.
