Vice President Sara Duterte’s office announced Poa’s designation as OVP spokesperson through an infographic released on Monday, Aug. 19.
He will serve as vice presidential spokesperson effective immediately.
Poa quit his post at DepEd after President Marcos appointed former senator Sonny Angara to head the department.
Angara assumed as Education secretary starting July 19, following Duterte’s resignation from the Marcos administration Cabinet last June.
Besides Poa, who was also the DepEd spokesperson in a concurrent capacity, four other DepEd officials also quit their respective posts. They were Nolasco Mempin, Sunshine Fajarda, Reynold Munsayac, and Noel Baluyan.
