Man killed in motorcycle-bus collision

BACOLOD CITY – A 25-year-old man died after his motorcycle collided with a bus in Barangay 3, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental on Saturday night, August 17.

Police Capt. Rosinie Cabuena, deputy chief of the La Carlota City Police Station, identified the victim as Jarell Joseph Ledesma of Barangay Taculing, this city.

Cabuena said the victim’s motorcycle allegedly suddenly crossed the road and hit a side of a Ceres bus, which was approaching the terminal, driven by a 41-year-old resident of this city.

The victim, who was not wearing a helmet, slumped into the ground and sustained injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he died.

The fatality was identified by her aunt on Sunday, August 18.

Cabuena said the victim’s family and bus owner Vallacar Transit Inc. have met to discuss a possible settlement.
