Farmer shot dead in Quezon

TAGKAWAYAN, Quezon â€“ A 36-year-old farmer was shot dead while searching for cellphone signal in a mountainous area in Barangay Maguibuay, this town, on Saturday night, August 17.

Police identified the victim as Jayson Decena Dalma, married, of Barangay Maguibuay.

Investigation said the victim left his friends during a drinking spree to look for cellphone signal.

A man appeared and shot him with a caliber. 45 pistol. Dalma died on the spot.

The suspect fled on foot towards the forested and mountainous area of the barangay.

Maguibuay in a far-flung barangay, about 16 kilometers away from the town proper.

Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
