Abalos orders BFP to look into Facebook post of fire truck refilling private swimming pool in Rizal

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Benjamin “Benhur’’ Abalos Jr. ordered the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) to investigate the alleged unlawful use of a fire truck refilling a private swimming pool in Taytay, Rizal.

In an urgent memorandum, Abalos issued the directive after a Facebook user posted that the incident supposedly occurred in Maharlika Village.

“Given the above, you are hereby directed to immediately conduct an investigation of the said incident to determine the validity of the same,’’ the urgent memorandum addressed to BFP director Louie Puracan read.

Abalos directed Puracan to identify the BFP personnel involved “in such unscrupulous act and if warranted, they should be relieved from their post pending the result of the formal investigation.’’

The DILG chief also instructed Puracan to submit “the progress of the case’’ in his office in the soonest possible time.
