The strategies employed by the Zamboanga City Jail Male Dormitory (ZCJMD) bolstered the spirit of the persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) with the average of close to 70 percent reduction in waiting time of the visitors in the facility.
Since January, the “Bilis Pila, Bisitang Masaya (Faster Queue, Happy Visitation)’’ strategy of the ZCJMD has earned praises and positive response from the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) for “its outstanding contribution to streamlining initiatives and enhancing the ease of doing business through innovations and improved service delivery.’’
ARTA Director General Secretary Ernesto Perez presented the certification of recognition to Zamboanga City Jail Male Dormitory Warden Jail Supt. Xavier Solda during the recent 2024 Ease of Doing Business Summit.
The City government of Zamboanga, the City government of Dapitan, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office 9, the Zamboanga City Central Eagles Club, the JCI Zamboanga La Bella and Zamboanga Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce were also recognized for their adeptness and competence in delivering public service.
Solda stated that the "Bilis Pila, Bisitang Masaya" ploy aims to reduce the PDL families' transaction procedures to ease their inconvenience and provide a stress-free and more enjoyable visit in the facility.
Highlighting the socioeconomic agenda of the President, particularly enhancing bureaucratic efficiency, Perez thanked the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) and other government agencies in Zamboanga City “for their commitment to efficient and effective service delivery.’’
“The government is focused on ensuring fast and quality service to the people," Perez noted.
BJMP chief Director Ruel Rivera also expressed his overwhelming commitment to support national efforts to streamline processes and frontline services in the jail bureau.
"Our priority is to continuously improve the delivery of welfare and development services to persons deprived of liberty under our care,’’ Rivera said.
“We remain committed to serving the public with greater efficiency and trust,” he continued.
