Partly cloudy weather with isolated rain showers, thunderstorms expected in the week ahead

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said most of the country will experience partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in the coming week.

Based on its weekly outlook released on Friday, Aug. 16, PAGASA said the southwest monsoon (habagat) may bring mostly cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to Batanes and Babuyan Islands until Sunday, Aug. 18.

The rest of the country is expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies, with possible afternoon or evening rain showers or thunderstorms this weekend.

By Monday, Aug. 19, PAGASA said Batanes may continue to experience mostly cloudy skies with scattered monsoon rains and isolated thunderstorms.

The rest of the archipelago will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms particularly in the afternoon or evening.

From Tuesday until Wednesday, Aug. 20 to 21, PAGASA said the country can expect partly cloudy to occasionally cloudy skies, with possible localized rain showers or thunderstorms.

From Thursday to Friday, Aug. 22 to 23, PAGASA said a cloud cluster may develop into a low pressure area.

Its trough or extension may bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms to Eastern Visayas, Caraga Region, and Davao Region.

Elsewhere, partly cloudy to cloudy skies are expected, with possibilities of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
