Mayor Honey urges city residents to avail of free health care services

The 44 health centers in Manila offer additional medical services to the city residents, particularly pregnant women, Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan announced on Friday, August 16.

Residents who need consultation and other health services -- such as clinical laboratories, ECG, and ultrasound -- may directly proceed to the barangay health centers from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays to Fridays, as online appointments for consultations are no longer needed.

The city mayor explained that both walk-ins and people who registered online for an appointment would be accommodated.

Registering online, however, helps city health authorities gather information ahead of time, making future visits faster and easier.

"Prevention is always better than cure. Tangkilikin ninyo ang ating mga health centers. Pabakunahan po ninyo ang inyong mga anak, apo o alaga (Go to our health centers. Please vaccinate your children and grandchildren),” she said.

"Wag na po kayong makipagsiksikan sa ospital kung matutugunan ng health center ang inyong problema. Sila po ang magsasabi kung kailangang sa ospital kayo magpunta (Don't rush to the hospital, the health center will solve your problem. They will tell you if you need to go to the hospital),”she added.

She also said the health center concerned will refer the patient to the hospital nearest to him or her.

Residents are encouraged to visit the health centers to know the free primary health care services.
