Girl, 17, stabbed on her way to school in Gen. Trias

CAVITE – A 17-year-old girl who was on her way to school was intercepted and stabbed by a male suspect in Barangay Buenavista 1, General Trias City, early morning on Wednesday, Aug. 14.

The suspect reportedly hit the victim on the head and dragged her to the grassy area on the side of the road, General Trias Component City Police Station (CCPS) chief investigator Chief Master Sergeant Brendo Llanda told the Manila Bulletin on Friday, Aug. 16.

When the victim shouted for help and caught the attention of witnesses, the suspect allegedly panicked and stabbed the victim with a knife before fleeing.

The victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

Llanda said they have yet to interview the victim as she remains under observation at the hospital.

The General Trias CCPS, meanwhile, is now investigating and developing a case against a person of interest.

The motive behind the crime remains unknown, but a robbery holdup seems unlikely since the suspect did not take any of the victim’s belongings.

Authorities are not ruling out rape as a possible motive.
