Centro Escolar University Singers Manila member and pharmacy student, Ma. Krissha Abby Dimalaluan Oquendo has made a remarkable achievement by securing 1st Place in the Vocal Category at the Grand Finals of the 11th Asia Arts Festival held in Kreta Ayer People’s Theatre, Singapore.
This prestigious event saw participants from various countries showcasing their talents in the performing arts. In the Grand Finals, Oquendo captivated the audience and judges with her powerful rendition of "Stone Cold" by Demi Lovato. Her emotional and technically impressive performance stood out among the competitors, securing her the top spot in the Vocal Category.
Oquendo's journey to this victory began when she first won Gold A in the Solo Singing Category at the Philippines Arts Festival. Her outstanding performance there earned her the opportunity to compete on the international stage, where she continued to excel and bring honor to the country.
As a dedicated member of the CEU Singers Manila, Oquendo has consistently demonstrated her exceptional vocal skills and passion for music. Balancing her rigorous studies as a BS Pharmacy student with her commitment to her musical pursuits, she exemplifies the spirit of perseverance and excellence.
In a Facebook post, she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to God, her loved ones, her School of Pharmacy family, and mentors which include Prof. Angelito Ayran, CEU Conservatory of Music program head.
