Centro Escolar University (CEU) has been granted ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management System) and ISO 21001:2018 (Educational Organization Management System) certifications by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS).
The three-day combined audit, conducted by SGS from April 15 to 17, 2024, thoroughly evaluated CEU's adherence to international standards. The ISO 9001:2015 certification focuses on ensuring that the quality management principles are effectively implemented, particularly on customer focus, leadership, engagement of people, process approach, improvement, evidence-based decision making, and relationship management.
The ISO 21001:2018 certification, on the other hand, is specific to educational organizations, aiming to enhance the satisfaction of learners and other beneficiaries. It emphasizes the alignment of educational services with the needs of learners, regulatory requirements, and continuous improvement.
During the audit, SGS auditors meticulously verified CEU’s compliance with both sets of standards. They assessed whether the university meets regulatory requirements and customer expectations, which are in the context of education, including students, parents, and other stakeholders.
Dr. Erna Yabut, vice president for Research, Innovation and Institutional Development thanked the CEU community for the team’s efforts to achieve this milestone and she also encouraged commitment to quality and excellence.
The recommendation for certification reflects CEU’s dedication to maintaining high standards in its educational offerings and operational processes, ensuring excellence and continual improvement in serving its students and other stakeholders.
