BAGUIO CITY – Ten people have died from dengue in this city from February to August 1.

Health officials recorded 3,011 cases during the period.
However, 1,839 cases were reported from August 1 to 15, increasing the total to 4,850.
The dengue dashboard of the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit of the City Health Service Office said there were 2,368 male patients, with the majority aged 15 to 19. On the other hand, there were 2,482 females and most victims were aged 20 to 24.
Barangay Irisan recorded the highest number of cases with 650, followed by Bakakeng Central at 380; Asin Road, 338; Santo Tomas Proper, 158; Pacdal, 154; Gibraltar, 142; Camp 7, 134; Loakan, 121; Bakakeng Norte, 116, and Pinget, 111.
Government hospitals tested 54 percent of patients, private hospitals, 27 percent; private laboratories, 10.3 percent, and regional and city health offices, 8.7 percent.
Mayor Benjamin Magalong has ordered the strict implementation of the anti-dengue ordinance and penalties on people violating dengue control measures.
The CHSO urged residents to strictly implement anti-dengue measures to prevent the spread of cases that usually occur from June to October.
