Truck driver pinned to death by concrete arch in Laguna

CABUYAO CITY, Laguna – A 40-year-old truck driver was pinned to death by a concrete arch at the boundary of Barangays Sala-and Marinig, this city, on Wednesday evening, August 14.

Police identified the victim as Bryan Reyes Ramos of Taytay, Rizal.

Investigation said the victim was driving a trailer truck with license plates NDW-7617 when it crashed into the concrete arch.

Debris fell directly on the tractor head and Ramos was pinned on the driver's seat. His helper, Jeffrey Ledan Torregosa, fled because of fear, police said.

Rescuers extracted the victim who was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Witnesses said the truck was speeding before the accident.
