The suspect was identified as "Jeric," 27-years-old.

Based on the police report, the suspects entered the store and declared the hold-up with two of them going up the 2nd floor while the three others remained on the ground floor, seizing the cellphones of the security guard and store employees.

The security guard was able to shoot at the suspects who panicked upon hearing the sirens of responding police officers. Jeric was hit and died-on-the-spot while his cohorts escaped.

The police recovered the stolen cellphone owned by the security guard, a .9mm pistol, a .38 caliber revolver, and various ammunition from Jeric's body.

Meanwhile, the store's cashier said Jeric's accomplices got away with an iPhone 13 worth P40,000 and a Samsung cellphone worth P10,000.

Officers also recovered a motorcycle and a Suzuki Raider motorcycle without a plate number which yielded the gang leader's driver's license.

Police investigation revealed that alias Jeric had a standing warrant for frustrated homicide, violation of RA 10883 (Anti-Carnapping Act), Robbery, and Murder.

"We would like to acknowledge the alertness and quick action of the security guard that resulted in the neutralization of the suspect. Also, continuous conduct of manhunt operations is underway for the possible arrest of the remaining at-large suspects," SPD district director Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete said.
