Ex-congressman Cerafica to challenge Cayetano for mayor of Taguig anew

Former Taguig-Pateros congressman Arnel Cerafica will be running for mayor against incumbent Lani Cayetano in Taguig in the May 12, 2025 local election.

Cerafica served as congressman of the Taguig-Pateros district for three straight terms from 2010 to 2019.

This will be the third time that Cerafica will run for mayor of Taguig.

After his term as congressman ended, Cerafica ran for mayor and lost to Lino Cayetano in 2019.

In 2022, Lino did not run for reelection and gave way to Lani, his sister-in-law. Cerafica ran again but lost to Lani, wife of Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.

In the last local election in Taguig, Cerafica and his team were endorsed by the UniTeam led by then presidential aspirant and now President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
